Bridgestone have been making high quality tyres since the 1930s, settling into its Tokyo headquarters in the 1950s and “serving society with products of superior quality”. Bridgestone provided Japan with its first steel radial tyres for trucks and buses in 1962 and the first radial tyres for passenger cars in 1964.
The 1980s saw the company turn global, with manufacturing plants and links with the USA and Europe, technological advances and Porche adopting Bridgestone high performance racing tyres as standard.
Bridgestone won their first FI championship in 1998 with Mika Hakkinen and the Mercedes/McClaren team. And in the 21st Century, the company continues to venture into technological advancements, and has become a household name for tyres, golf equipment and bicycles.
