Hankook tyres production hits 25 Million
Hankook’s production line in Hungary has produced 25 million in less than five years, with their production estimated to produce another 25 million in less than half of that time. Hankook is the seventh largest tyre manufacturer in the world. With sales of car tyres especially on the rise it is easy to see why. Hankook also produce UK tyres which are stamped with the ‘E’ mark showing they conform to EU standards.
In the past lesser known tyres are often associated with cheap tyres of inferior quality. With some car manufacturers choosing to fit Hankooks tyres to their vehicles, there will be an explosion in their popularity. Ford Motor company are one of the largest manufacturers to provide Hankook tyres. Hankook car tyres are supplied with Fords incredibly popular Fiesta model, which has out sold most of its rivals since its re-launch back in Dec 2008. With customers who tend to replace the manufacturer’s choice with the same tyres Fiesta could really make a name for Hankook. Hankook also produce van tyres and 4×4 tyres.
Hankook tyres reinvest 5% of their revenues back into tyre development. This is a staggering sum of money especially when you consider that they have sold one billion pounds worth of tyres to the American market alone as of Dec 13th of 2011. With only 30 years of tyre sales in America that is impressive by anyone’s standards. To raise awareness in the US Hankook have sponsored major legal baseball. This has raised their profile and with agreements in place with several car manufacturers this will see a huge rise in their popularity.
It is only a matter of time before Hankook do a similar exercise in the UK watch this space!
