Goodyear Ultragrip 2 Winter Van Tyres
With some parts of the UK having received a couple of inches of snow last night we thought it would be relevant to review Goodyear’s answer to keeping you going through the rough winter months. Having been in the business for 114 years they have received many awards and won many races on their car tyres and became the people’s choice for tyres on agreeing to supply tyres for the model T. The model T was the first mass produced car ever made. Since then the tyre technology has massively improved over the last 114 years.
Goodyear Ultragrip 2 Winter van tyres have been designed and produced for commercial vehicles, with its all steel carcass based on unisteel technology which helps to increase the load carrying capacity. The maximum blade density greatly improves winter performance.
Goodyear have introduced large shoulder block with this tyre. This technology stabilises the shoulder area of the tyre for improved handling. They have also designed the Ultragrip 2 with optimum block placement to reduce noise levels and improve ride comfort. A lot of different technologies have gone into these tyres; studdable technology being created for winter driving to provide constant grip though the extreme winter conditions and directional technology, designed to reduce the effects of aquaplaning. This works by the tread pattern disbursing the water as the vehicle is driven through standing water.
