Two Stars of the Detroit Motorshow
The new Ford Mondeo has been launched at the Detroit motor show. The stylish new Mondeo is going to be packed full of technology. Even the engine range has the latest technologies, with Ecoboost to give the all new Mondeo the low CO2 emissions and importantly higher fuel economy. Delivering all this without a loss in performance is amazing.
Ford are also promising to add hybrid models to the Mondeo line up! Mondeo has followed Focus & Fiesta in Ford’s new world car strategy. The world car strategy is to make all the cars the same across the world. This reduces production costs and allows shared technologies. The next relaunch from Ford’s world car collection is the Kuga which is due out late 2012. The Mondeo promises to be an exciting launch. Due March 2013 with Hybrid models to follow.
BMW are to launch a Roadster version of the Mini. The Mini has been amazingly successful since it was relaunched in the UK. BMW have constantly added new lines to the Mini range to keep it up to date and popular, and the Roadster has the potential to add to this success story. The rear seats have been removed to enhance rear boot space and the vehicle has a manual fabric roof, which has been designed to reduce weight. The vehicle is set to go on sale at less than £20,000. The Mini Roadster should have people queuing at Mini dealerships. There’s also a John Cooper works special due to join the range after launch with a 208 BHP from a turbo charged 1.6. Fitted with painted black 18″ alloys and premium car tyres.
