Pirelli Sponsoring Le Mans Village
The Village on the Curves at the Le Mans 24 Hours, which is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year, will be sponsored by Pirelli this year. Situated on the 8.5 mile Circuit se la Sarthe at a spectacular vantage point, the Village on the Curves was previously called the Porsche Owners International Village.
The Porsche Curves is a fast but narrow series of bends coming at the very end of the laps, and cars enter it in fifth gear, making it one of the most exciting places for spectators to watch the Le Mans 24 Hours race.
The village itself is well-known for being a meeting place and camp site for Porsche owners, and this year it will be open from Wednesday 13th June 2012. Pirelli are excited to be helping support the Le Mans 24 Hours, the world’s oldest endurance sports car race featuring some of the top drivers in motorsports.
Pirelli have recently launched a new homologation of P Zero road car tyres specifically designed for the newest Porsche 911. They have different compounds on the front and rear, designed to maximise the car’s layout with the rear-engine and rear-wheel drive.
