Firestone Run Flat Tyres Aimed At Value Focused Drivers!
Many of the first cars that were fitted with run flat tyres as original equipment are now coming on to the second hand car market, and the drivers buying them don’t necessarily have as large a budget for replacement tyres as the original owners. Bridgestone has decided to cater to this growing market by launching its first ever Firestone-branded run-flat aimed at the European market.
The new tyre is called the Firehawk SZ90μ RFT (which stands for Run Flat Technology) and is available on the replacement tyre market in six sizes for 16 to 18 inch, 40 to 55 series. The reinforced rubber sidewall rubber construction allows the driver to continue driving safely if the tyre deflates or experiences a total loss of pressure in the event of a puncture or blow out.
Bridgestone Europe say the tyres are perfect for those drivers who are looking for value for money and drive cars that were originally fitted with run flat tyres. Obviously as the system is already fitted, it makes sense to continue fitting run flats. The director of Bridgestone Europe hopes that they enable the company to increase its market share in the maturing RFT segment.
