First Stage Of Tyre Labelling Introduction
We know we have mentioned the upcoming tyre labelling changes before, but it’s all starting to get very real now. The tyre labelling regulation from the European Union doesn’t require any changes from retailers until 1st November 2012, but as far as tyre manufacturer’s are concerned, D-day is much earlier on the 1st July 2012.
From the 1st July tyre manufacturers will be producing tyres featuring the new consumer advice label, so they will start to appear in deliveries to retailers from that date. As far as you as the consumer is concerned, that means any tyres that are bought from that date may have the label on…or they may not. So don’t be surprised if you see the label.
If your new tyres don’t yet feature the advice label, you should always be able to pose any questions to your tyre fitter or retailer. While it may not be as easy for them to find the information as it will be once the labels are standard, they ought to have a wide enough knowledge of the tyres they stock to respond to your questions.
