Tyre Support For Euro 2012 From Continental
Most people will associate UEFA Euro 2012 with football, but for Continental it’s all about tyres! As part of their sponsorship they will be equipping the coaches transporting the players with their own tyres. Forty buses provided for fans in Poland will also be fitted with Continental tyres.
The tyres are a special Euro 2012 edition, and their sidewall features footballs as well as the Continental logo. On match days, the fan buses will be used to ferry fans to the stadiums from specially designated ‘fan zones’, but they won’t be sitting idle on other days; they will function as free buses in the cities as a supplement to the public transport services. As it is expected that thousands of fans will be attending, the local public transport could probably do with all the help it can get!!
The service doesn’t stop there – they will also be supplying service technicians via the Conti360° network to carry out checks on the tyres each day to further ensure the safety of both players and fans. There will also be two service vehicles on standby at each venue just in case any technical assistance is required to keep the buses and coaches on the road.
