Bridgestone Tyres in Crumball Rally
The Crumball Rally is a challenging drive across Europe, designed to be a cheap event with drivers aiming to complete the course in an old banger that cost them only £200! In early May, the drivers had three days to complete the course. One driver, Jon Powell, took part to raise money for the Friends of Kennel Lane School as his son is a pupil at the school, and Bridgestone donated the tyres for his car as well as a £250 donation to the charitable fund.
The tyres Jon Powell used were Bridgestone Turanza tyres, and they helped him finish the course and raise £2000. The 2000 mile tour is based on the 1967 Formula One movie ‘Grand Prix’. It takes in historic racing circuits at Reims and Monza before finishing in Monaco.
Kennel Lane School operates within the Special Educational Needs field providing a tailor-made environment for students with a variety of difficulties from those on the Autistic spectrum, to students with physical disabilities. Despite that, it is an OFSTED acclaimed school.
