There’s nothing more inconvenient than getting a puncture when you’re out and about, especially when you’re in a hurry. Kumho have been looking into this and they have recently released news of the launch of their first self-sealing tyre! 

‘K-Seal’ as it will be known is available in three sizes; 275/40ZR19 XL 105W, 245/45ZR19 XL 102W and 235/45ZR17 XL 97W and will be capable of self-sealing punctures of up to 5 millimetres in diameter, how’s that for convenient!

Kumho Tire have said that this new breed of tyre will perform as well as the standard tyre and have the same level of ride comfort. One of the only main differences would be the weight, as tyres equipped with ‘K-Seal’ are roughly 10% heavier than standard tyres. And the price we hear you ask…tyres with the ‘K-Seal’ technology will be priced at approximately 30% higher than standard tyres.

So if you’re prone to a puncture or two or you just want to prepare for every eventuality then it might be worth taking a look into the ‘K-Seal’.
