Michelin Have Presented Their New Winter Tyres
As the sunshine is just starting to come back again, bringing with it blue skies and spring-like temperatures, it may seem the wrong time of year to be launching new winter tyres. However, if the tyres are going to be on shelves in ample time for them to be fitted when temperatures drop back below 7 degrees Celsius at the end of the year, then they need to be launched fairly soon.
Michelin launched their latest version of the Pilot Alpin UHP and the Latitude Alpin SUV winter 4×4 tyres, and they are scheduled to arrive in the European replacement markets around May time. According to Michelin, the tyres deliver “unparalleled results in terms of safety, mobility and longevity”, and they have a host of TUV SUD test results to back up their claims.
With plans to position themselves on the crest of the European winter tyre growth wave, Michelin have almost doubled the number of different stock keeping units they offer. The European tyre markets has expanded by 10 per cent in the last 3 years, and if we focus solely on the winter tyre market, the increase has been a massive 50 per cent, and the premium winter tyres market by a staggering 82 per cent.
